Landscaping quote calculator: price by area, material and visits, shown as a range

Last materially reviewed 2026-10-03

Quick answerChoose involve.me Start ($29 a month, charged annually) to show a price range from area, material and visits. If you want quotes, job scheduling and invoices in one system, choose Jobber Core at the same annual price.

Landscaping quote calculator on involve.me: a price range on the Start plan

A landscaping quote calculator asks a visitor for the area in square feet, the material or service and the number of visits, then shows a price range on your website. On involve.me that takes the Start plan: $29 a month, charged annually, as read on 3 October 2026, or $49 a month, billed monthly.

This page is for the business owner, not a homeowner pricing a yard. involve.me's pricing and quotes template category lists 31 templates and none is for landscaping; the nearest are Price Quote Generator and Remodeling Project Price Calculator. You start from one of those, following how to create a price calculator for a website.

You can draft it on a free account, which needs no card. Publishing is different: with a calculator in it, the involve.me free plan gives you a test version with a watermark and room for 10 submissions.

Landscaping estimate calculator inputs: square feet, material, visits

A landscaping estimate calculator should ask only what a visitor can answer standing in the yard.

  • Area in square feet. A slider, or a short-answer field set to "Only Accept Numbers".
  • Material. A dropdown with a price per cubic yard as each answer's value, such as hardwood mulch or cedar mulch.
  • Depth or visits. A slider for inches of mulch, or for mowing visits per month.
  • Photos. A file upload question. Start stores 500MB of uploads, 20MB per file.

The documented list of elements that can feed a formula has no map or measuring tool, so the area is whatever the visitor types. That is the reason to show a range and not one figure. Our guide to a price range estimate explains how to word it.

Landscaping cost calculator formulas: mulch by the yard, mowing by lot size

A landscaping cost calculator can price mulch with one formula. The rates below are examples. A cubic yard is 27 cubic feet, which covers 324 square feet one inch deep, so the yards needed are area times depth divided by 324.

Mulch example: MAX(250,CEIL(Q1*Q2/324)*Q3)
Area (Q1)Depth (Q2)Material (Q3)Yards, rounded upPrice shown
600 sq ft3 inHardwood mulch, $85 a yard6$510
600 sq ft3 inCedar mulch, $105 a yard6$630
200 sq ft2 inHardwood mulch, $85 a yard2$250 minimum

CEIL rounds the yards up and MAX holds a $250 minimum job. For the range, add a second calculator with the same formula times 1.2, so the first row reads $510 to $612. On Start you repeat the formula in each calculator; reusing one inside another needs a global formula, which starts on Grow.

Mowing suits a rate table. Put lot-size bands and a price per visit in a public Google Sheet, connect it as a data table and use VLOOKUP(Q4,DS1,2)*Q5, where Q4 is a dropdown of the same bands and Q5 is visits per month. A $60 band at four visits shows $240 a month. After changing a rate you resync the table by hand. The sheet is public, so keep costs and margins out of it.

What Start covers for a landscaping firm, and when Grow pays

Start's 3 live funnels cover a mulch quote, a mowing quote and a seasonal cleanup quote; Grow matters once one formula has to feed another.

Start and Grow, from the involve.me pricing page
PlanPriceFor a landscaping firm
Start$29 a month, charged annually; $49 a month, billed monthlyCalculators, VLOOKUP, logic jumps; 3 live funnels (mulch, mowing, seasonal cleanup); 1 user; embed on 1 website
Grow$69 a month, charged annually; $99 a month, billed monthlyGlobal formulas; 5 live funnels; 2 users; involve.me watermark removal

Start costs 29 times 12, or $348 a year. Grow costs 69 times 12, or $828 a year, which is $480 more.

Slopes, drainage and tree work: landscaping jobs the calculator should not price

A formula built from typed answers cannot see a slope, poor drainage, tight access or a tree near a power line. Add an answer such as "retaining wall, drainage or tree work" and use a logic jump to send that visitor past the price page to a contact form. Our page on custom quote requests covers the wording.

involve.me saves a calculator result only if the visitor views its page, so these leads arrive without a figure and staff know a site visit is needed.
