Quote form builder: six options for a quote request form, with free plans

Last materially reviewed 2026-10-03

Quick answerPick involve.me Start, $29 a month, charged annually, if the form must show the price on a result page and email the lead. For a plain quote request form use Fillout or Tally: both are free and include calculations.

Quote form builder shortlist: six tools and the two free picks

The quote form builders worth shortlisting are Fillout, Tally, Cognito Forms, Paperform, Typeform and involve.me, and for a plain quote request form the first two cost nothing. A quote form collects the details of a job (service, size, timing, contact) so you can reply with a price; a builder with calculations can also show a total before the visitor submits. Free plans and entry prices in the table below are as read on 3 October 2026.

Typeform's and Tally's pricing pages served euro prices when we read them, so we quote no dollar figure for their paid plans. Typeform showed Basic at 25 euros a month, billed yearly. Typeform's help center also says its plan prices are being tested.

Quote form builder free: Fillout, Tally and Cognito Forms

A free quote form builder with room for a small firm's requests exists in three of the six: Fillout, Tally and Cognito Forms. Their caps differ. Fillout allows 1,000 responses a month, Tally sets no submission cap inside its fair use policy, and Cognito Forms allows 100 entries a month. Paperform's free plan stops at 30 submissions a month and Typeform's at 10 responses a month.

On those three free plans the vendor's branding appears on the form. involve.me's Free plan has 2 live funnels and no calculator. Its monthly lead cap differs by source, 50 submissions on involve.me's pricing page and 25 contacts in its help center, and visits stop at 500 a month; the involve.me free plan page covers the difference. See involve.me vs Fillout for the free-versus-paid case.

Request a quote form for a website: what to ask and how to embed it

A request-a-quote form for a website needs five things: the service wanted, the size or quantity of the job, the timing, a way to reply, and a place for photos or files. Fillout and Tally include file uploads on their free plans; on Typeform, file upload questions need Basic.

Fillout and Typeform both list embedding on their free plans, and involve.me's embed code creates a responsive iframe. Our guide to required vs optional form fields covers which of the five to make mandatory.

Form builder with calculations: rules in Fillout, Tally and Typeform, formulas in involve.me

A form builder with calculations lets the quote form show a total, and all six tools do arithmetic in some way:

  • Fillout: step-by-step rules, each doing one operation; results show up to 2 decimal places, with no currency symbol.
  • Tally: calculated fields, available for free to all users, with add, subtract, multiply and divide plus formula expressions.
  • Typeform: rules that change a score or price variable; the price variable needs a Payment question, which is on Basic or higher.
  • Paperform and Cognito Forms: a paid-only Calculation field in Paperform; calculations that total costs and set field values in Cognito Forms.
  • involve.me: a formula builder with operators, IF conditions and VLOOKUP against a data table, on Start and above.

Example: a cleaning quote of a $60 call-out plus $0.12 per square foot. For 1,500 square feet the total is 60 + 180 = $240. In Fillout that is two rules (multiply the area by 0.12, then add 60); in involve.me it is one formula.

Which quote form builder to pick

  • Fillout for a free quote request form with a running total and up to 1,000 responses a month.
  • Tally for a free form when you do not want a monthly submission cap.
  • Cognito Forms for order-style forms with calculated totals, at 100 entries a month free or Pro at $19 a month billed annually.
  • Typeform or Paperform if you already pay for one. Both take a quote request; neither has a free plan above 30 submissions a month.
  • involve.me when the form should show the price on a result page and send follow-up emails. That is a calculator job more than a form job: see what is a quote calculator for the difference and the involve.me review for its plans.

involve.me is the wrong tool for a five-field quote request form that shows a total: Fillout and Tally do that sum free. Its calculator starts on Start at $29 a month, charged annually, and is worth paying for when the form has to show the price on a result page and email the lead afterwards.
